The theme of this year's international women's day is #choose to challenge and Team edusurg clinics unite with the women who make a difference in a lot of our patients' lives. We wish to thank Dr. Mona Mehta at the outset for sharing her experiences and her knowledge on the field that interests her the most in radiology. Breast cancer screening is lagging behind in a lot of developing countries as compared to other countries and this video is aimed at increasing awareness about it.
We have received a lot of comments on our internationally recognized cancer awareness series and the current video is an addition to the same series working on breast cancer awareness. Dr. Mona Mehta discusses how you can identify if you are at risk and also enumerates the risk factors for breast cancer. This is then followed by a brief on self-breast examination and then, basics of what to expect at the mammography and the sono-mammography appointment.
We need a breast cancer awareness program with signs and symptoms as that will be the only way to identify the patients early. October is usually the breast cancer awareness month, however, looking at the women's day theme, She wishes to challenge the delay in breast cancer diagnosis leading to the increased burden of advanced disease in our society. And hence, this video on breast cancer awareness.
This, women's day, let us focus on Women's health and let us all #choosetochallenge breast cancer with Dr. Mona Mehta.
Let us spread the video to as many people as possible and help reduce the burden and suffering due to breast cancer in our society.
