Imaging for Liver Cancer & LI-RADS -Hepatocellular Carcinoma Radiology Masterclass

Imaging for liver cancer is a tricky topic and LI-RADS - Liver imaging, reporting and data system is a recent advancement to standardize the liver cancer reporting of CT and MRI. LI-RADS in sonography is also available.

In this presentation, there is an overview of the imaging patterns of primary liver cancer and the role of imaging in liver cancer diagnosis, CT, and MRI liver protocols as well as a detailed discussion of the LI-RADS. Dr. Amar Suri gives a nice overview of the CT/MR algorithm and then discusses the major and minor features of the LI-RADS with the help of a few case studies of HCC with liver MRI and liver CT. MRI of the liver is very helpful and this is also highlighted in this talk. The key points to look for in a liver MRI or CT of the liver are also highlighted.

It is important to remember while watching this video for understanding LI-RADS that it is not applicable to the pediatric population and to cirrhosis of vascular origin. This system is explained in this video by Edusurg clinics to aid in grasping the imaging basics of liver cancer and to apply them in clinical practice.
